Nesrin Korkmaz

From: Turkey

Language: Turkish

Class:2017 / Fellow

She was born in a small seaside town in Izmir, Turkey. As a child, she used to climb on fig trees to get a better view of the vast Aegean Sea in front of her, then gaze at the horizon. She would imagine herself walking on the streets of foreign lands beyond the sea. So, needless to say, her desire to venture out of the country meant that she would learn languages (English and a little German so far) to be able to communicate and to be able to immerse herself in different cultures. Now that she is here, she would like to offer the same chance to anyone, who likes to travel to Turkey and/or wants to understand the Turkish culture a little better. She is looking forward to the new semester and to meeting her students!
