Mission: To provide opportunities to learn any language at a minimal cost

GLN promotes language learning by employing a unique model standing on three pillars:

Dedicated Teachers: We engage and train volunteer native speakers who teach their language and share their culture with our community.

Communicative Approach: We create a comfortable environment where students and teachers collaborate as learning partners. We develop students’ communicative competence by facilitating communicative contexts in the classroom.

Learning Community: We foster a community where people learn, share, and connect. We facilitate cross-cultural interaction and exchange between passionate life-long learners.

GLN offers language classes in more than 60 languages. We strive to build students’ confidence and competence to communicate with others in meaningful and appropriate ways, while developing teachers as educators and leaders.

Vision: To connect and empower people through language and culture

GLN envisions a peaceful, cooperative and inclusive world where people practice and model tolerance, understanding, and social responsibility across languages and cultures. Our vision is based on the premise that language is a fundamental tool that unlocks human potential and empowers people to transcend cultural barriers and make a positive impact in a changing global society. Language offers new perspectives, broadens horizons and enriches lives because it enables individuals to establish invaluable connections around the globe.

In order to realize our vision, we aim to establish a diverse network of lifelong language learners within the United States and abroad.
