Learn with GLN
Classes in 60+ Languages!
GLN offers three semesters of language classes (Spring, Summer and Fall) where each semester has twelve 2-hour sessions. Classes are scheduled to accommodate the scheduling needs of our adult learners and are held after 5:00pm on weeknights and at varying times throughout the weekend. GLN classes are open to everyone over 18 years of age.
We recently also launched a new Executive Session that meets for six 2-hours sessions within our normal semester. The Executive Session is a great option for those students who do not have time to commit to 12 sessions, or want to supplement their existing GLN classes.
Passionate Volunteer Teachers!
GLN recruits and trains individuals with special talents and motivation to be involved with our community. Our Teaching Fellows come from different walks of life with diverse professional background and experience and are united by a common passion: to teach their language and share their culture. GLNsiders Membership Program!
We also offer a premium membership program called GLNsiders. This program caters to people who want to become more intimately involved with the GLN community. Perks of the GLNsider program include priority registration for an available GLN class and invitations to exclusive GLN events and activities. Partnerships for Space!
Classes meet at locations made available to GLN through collaboration with partner organizations throughout the Washington, DC area. The majority of classes meet in the Foggy Bottom / Farragut / Dupont Circle area. We also have some classes in Rosslyn, VA and Tenleytown. To provide optimal student-teacher ratios, GLN classes are capped at 20 students.
Since 2005 GLN has offered classes in more than 60 different languages! While we are not able to offer every language every semester, you can help us bring more languages to our community. Refer a Teaching Fellow!
