The GLN teacher volunteer commits to teach a language class for one semester following GLN’s language approach and using GLN’s methodology. In a typical semester the GLN teacher dedicates 40-50 hours over a three-month period to preparing his or her lesson plans, leading the class and conducting any extra-curricular activities or assignments (as necessary).
Responsibilities:
Follow the GLN curriculum.
Prepare lesson plans for each individual class session following GLN guidelines.
Teach class in accordance with GLN’s language learning approach.
Mark student attendance and log promptly in the online database after every class.
Attend class and be punctual.
Expectations
Effectively cover the selected material according to GLN’s Curriculum guidelines.
Always use the target language in the classroom.
Have fun while maintaining control of the classroom.
Design a specific framework that:
- builds students’ vocabulary, oral communication skills, and confidence in the target language;
- gives students opportunities to practice speaking;
- improves students’ comprehension skills.
Attend at least one scheduled Teacher Workshop throughout the semester.
Attend at least one of the monthly “Teacher Get Togethers.”

Represent The Global Language Network inside and outside the classroom.
