Russell Petty graduated from Syracuse University in May with degrees in Mathematics and History. While in school, he spent a full year abroad in South America where he spent 6 months working on a ranch in Salta, Argentina, and 6 months taking classes at La Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago de Chile. Russell currently works on an oyster farm in southern Maryland. He thinks it is important for all Americans to understand multiple languages and cultures to be great citizens in our diverse country.
