I have a strong love for the performing arts, particularly acting, and I find that teaching is another form of performance for me: when I teach, I enjoy injecting my dramatic personality in order to emphasize concepts as well as to entertain my students and to keep them engaged. I suppose my liveliness comes by virtue of being Latin American, and so that reflects in my teaching style. I am teaching at GLN because I love languages! This love, I think, is naturally derived from my passion for literature, which I study as an undergraduate. Language is a beautiful and incredible form of communication that can take on a life of its own when it becomes adopted by someone else with a different lived experience. I derive joy from teaching languages, be it English or Spanish, because it helps people expand their ability to communicate and interact in new cultures.
