Media Monday–Captain Abu Raed!
Happy Monday wonderful GLNers, and welcome to April! Did you play any April Fools’ jokes on your friends? It occurred to me that it would be a great prank to “teach” somebody to say something in another language, yet actually teach them something very different from what they think they’re learning to say…not that I would ever do that, of course. But maybe something to keep in mind for next year. 😉
Anyway, as it is Monday, we’ve got a movie trailer for you! The movie is كابتن أبو رائد, or Captain Abu Raed. It’s in Arabic and takes place in Jordan, and when it came out in 2007 it was actually the first Jordanian feature film produced in over 50 years! I can’t say I’ve seen it yet, but the trailer itself is a bit of a tear-jerker and gives me warm fuzzies. Then again, I’m sensitive. So check it out for yourself!
