Just a few weeks after they started learning Swahili, GLN’s beginning class was able to put together an entire cultural video — complete with costumes, props, song and dance — entirely in Swahili!
Other class projects featured potluck dinners of traditional Russian cuisine, a cookbook of Spanish food, and a video dialogue set in a Portuguese restaurant.
Shepherding these class projects were GLN’s language liaisons, who assist many of the network’s courses.
GLN’s language liaisons are motivated, outgoing students who get to play an active leadership role in a GLN class — engaging their fellow students, assisting the teacher with feedback and working with GLN itself.
Want to be a Language Liaison yourself? Our next round of applications opens Dec. 29! You can apply here.
