Alyson Woolley, Program Coordinator

Alyson graduated from American University in May of 2020 where she double majored in International Studies and Spanish with a specialization in development and human rights in Latin America. During her time at AU, Alyson participated in a Community Based Research Scholars program which allowed her to work with many nonprofits in the DC area, and completed a capstone project with the US Department of State.

Her passion for languages and cultures stems from traveling with her family while growing up and later spending semesters studying abroad in Bolivia, Peru, Spain, and Chile. Originally from Portland, Oregon, Alyson enjoys all kinds of outdoors activities including running, stand up paddle boarding, hiking, and snorkeling. Alyson looks forward to this new exciting role at GLN as she understands the imperative role of language in international development/humanitarian work and hopes to help others understand this as well. While there are thousands of languages Alyson would like to learn, she thinks Portuguese may be next!
