Elise Brittain is a Ph.D. student of Culture, Literacy, and Language at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Elise has a decade of teaching experience across multiple contexts, including as an instructor in U.S. intensive English programs, an ELL teacher in an international elementary school, and an English Language Fellow in Uzbekistan. She has stayed connected with teacher training projects in Central Asia through her involvement as an intern with TESOL International Association, as a Virtual Student Federal Service Intern with the Tajik Pedagogical University English Resource Center in Dushanbe, and as a co-program developer of the Digital Pedagogy and Assessment Practices program for higher education instructors across Uzbekistan. She currently supports undergraduate teacher candidates’ training in ESL methods and linguistics as a university teaching assistant. She also serves on the boards of two organizations in San Antonio: Texas Language Education Research (TexLER) and TexTESOL II.
