Khai Galias was raised by a diverse and multilingual community in Los Angeles, CA. Yet he discovered his love for languages on his first international experience to the Brazilian Amazon. It spurred him to get a degree in International Studies and Portuguese from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Since then he has sought to immerse himself in cultures and languages outside of his own through service. This has led him to teach English and do translation in Brazil as well as serve in a Peace Corps service in Ethiopia. He aspires to work with rural communities across the globe to build relationships and provide any support necessary. He already speaks Portuguese and Amharic yet seeks to learn Mandarin, Tagalog, and Arabic.
