Originally from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Melissa VanSant attends New York University’s Washington, DC campus, where she is pursuing a double major in journalism and Spanish. After tutoring Syrian refugees and civilians in the English language, Melissa wanted to impact the global community through language, education and sharing the stories of individuals from around the world.
Melissa’s internship with The Global Language Network focuses on outreach, program development, and program management, and she can usually be found sipping a cold brew coffee or searching for Washington, DC’s most delicious vegan tofu dish. She recently had a great experience while traveling to Italy. Melissa also enjoys practicing and refining her Spanish skills with GLN.
