Reese Phillips – Intern

Reese Phillips is a senior at American University studying International Studies, with a regional focus on Eurasia and Russian. Born and raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee Reese became interested in language, culture, and international studies through his high school’s IB program where he found a strong interest in Spanish and History. Reese’s professors and courses have allowed him to realize his passion for looking deeper at language and culture to see their impact and influence on politics, international relations, history, and society. Reese is currently taking Russian translation courses at American University and hopes to travel abroad to Russian-speaking countries to continue his language learning and to deepen his sociocultural understanding of the region. In the near future, Reese hopes to teach English abroad. Reese also enjoys a good cup of coffee, going on runs, talking about Marvel, and meeting new people. Reese is thrilled to join the GLN team and to connect people through language!
