WEDNESDAY’S WORD OF THE WEEK — GOOD LUCK

Welcome to the GLN Spring semester classes! During the lottery registration period, friends told me how anxious and excited they felt about their class acceptance. So for the most of you who got into the classes through the lottery system, you had 好運 (good luck)! In the Chinese belief, if you start off the year with 好運, 好運 will follow you throughout the year. And that the Chinese New Year has just begun last Friday.

Chinese (Cantonese): 好運, pronounced Hó Wòn.

Chinese (Mandarin): 好運, pronounced Hǎo Yùn.

To listen the words in Chinese (Mandarin), click on the blue text and you will be redirected to Google Translate. Cantonese pronunciation is not available on Google Translate.
