Are you thrilled to see your favorite super heros from books or animation come live on screen? There has been a series of movies based on Marvel and DC Comics/Animation such as recently released Thor, Wolverine, Batman and Spiderman. In Japan, they also make live-action movies based on animation and books. And the Japanese take it very seriously in producing the live-action movies as much as the Hollywood does. Some popular Japanese titles are Rurouni Kenshin, Death Note, Nana, and Touch.

The animation production in Japan is called Anime (アニメ). The comic or graphic novel equivalence in Japan is manga (漫画).

If you’re new to Anime (アニメ), check out this classic two-hour anime called Castle in the Sky (天空の城ラピュタ).
A loyal anime/manga fan? Then look forward to the Rurouni Kenshin ( るろうに剣心) live-action movie #2!
