Word-of-the-Week Wednesday–The F Bomb

As you can see from the title, today’s post might not be for the sensitive. It will, however, be quite amusing. GLN often likes to ask its students, teachers, and organizational volunteers what their favorite word in a foreign language is. This question usually gets asked at happy hours and other GLN events, and it’s a great way to learn some new foreign words!

Although I’m pretty sure nobody has ever written this down as their favorite word on their name tag at a GLN event, the “F bomb,” if you will, came up in response to our survey. A GLN student stated aptly, “F***. This word is so crazy to me. I hear people say it happy and say it mad and use it like a gerund. What the f***? How could you f***ing say that I f***ing love that song. ‘F*** you very much,’ I heard a lady say one time.”

It’s true–the word has many uses! If you’re looking for a good laugh, check out this YouTube video explaining how to use this special word. (Note: NSFW. Also probably not great if you’re easily offended. Also, there are a few misspelled words. You can’t win ‘em all.) We sincerely hope you enjoy it, from the bottom of our f***cking hearts. 🙂

(Is there a word in a foreign language that you just love? That you can’t get enough of, could say over and over, or you just like its meaning? Share it with us in a comment!)
