Franklin decided to learn Chinese on a whim during freshman year of college and afterwards fell in love with the language and culture. He has studied and worked in major Chinese cities including Beijing, Qingdao and Harbin.
Franklin’s China interests have led him to several notable experiences such as receiving a Boren Scholarship for intensive language study in China, earning 2nd place in a collegiate Chinese speaking competition, interpreting for Chinese elderly at a recreational center in the Greater Boston area and serving as a Chinese teaching assistant for beginner & intermediate courses at his alma mater Clark University. He is excited share his knowledge GLN students as well as learn from other GLN instructors.
