What Makes The Global Language Network Unique?
1) Our Mission
The Global Language Network (GLN) is a DC-based 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to “use language as a tool to help fix our world.” Many people wish to solve local, domestic, and global issues but not everyone has the tools. At GLN, we believe that the first and most fundamental tool for solving any issue is communication.
GLN provides hundreds of language classes in dozens of languages in order to help adults of all ages gain and improve upon communication skills in a foreign language. At GLN we believe improving communication is the first step towards understanding other people and helping resolve personal, professional, local, domestic, and global problems.
2) Our Methodology
The GLN Approach is a unique teaching method developed by our Founder and Executive Director, Andrew Brown. It emphasizes a fun, immersive, and communication-driven environment that fosters genuine connection with the language, the culture, and each other.
A core element of the GLN Approach is the “No English Challenge,” which encourages both teachers and students to immerse themselves fully in the target language. By creating a dynamic, engaging classroom experience without relying on English, we promote deeper learning, stronger rapport, and a more authentic connection to the language and its cultural context.
3) Our Model
GLN makes language learning accessible and affordable for all. As an organization we strive to connect and empower people through language and culture. We realize that language learning is neither accessible nor affordable. It is our goal to make language learning opportunities available to everyone.
While GLN classes are as affordable as it gets, there are many ways to get your registration fee waived. Current GLN teachers, volunteers giving 4 hours per week, interns, and partners are eligible to have their registration fee waived.
