Alejandra Gonzalez Vargas

From: Mexico

Language: Spanish

Class:2020 / Fellow

Alejandra (Ale) is originally from Mexico City, and lived her teen years in Monterrey, Mexico; she enjoys sharing the curious variations that occur in Spanish across just those two cities, and in the larger Hispanic world! She studied at Tulane University in New Orleans and now lives in DC. As an avid language learner herself, Ale looks forward to appreciating her own language through her students’ point of view. Her favorite word in Spanish is ‘chocolate,’ which comes from the Náhuatl xocolatl; she thinks the world really ought to salute Mexico more often for that stellar contribution.
