From: United States

Language: Chinese

Class:2017 / Fellow

Bradley Berman is a 2016 Princeton University graduate with a B.A. in East Asian Studies who has resided and worked in D.C. since June 2016. He has attained a near-native grasp of Mandarin through 6 intensive years of formal and personal study, notably attending the 2013 Summer Princeton in Beijing Program held at Beijing Normal University. In addition to using Mandarin informally with friends and to consume news, books, and TV shows on a daily basis, he also enjoys applying and growing his communication abilities in a professional environment as a full-time Chinese Research Analyst in the field of reputational risk assessment.

He has a passion for language learning and cultural exchange and has studied Korean for 3 years, as well as Hebrew, and Bulgarian (including through a Bulgarian class with GLN during the summer of 2017).

Bradley hopes that as a Teaching Associate with GLN, he can promote Mandarin language learning and create the possibility for increased understanding of and appreciation for the diverse life philosophies, cultures, and histories, individual and collective, of the people that share it.
