I was born in Leningrad, USSR, which is now St. Petersburg, Russia.  I moved to Washington, DC in 1987. I used to be a Math teacher, worked as a paralegal, office manager, and executive assistant. I am currently in training to become a certified community health worker because I am passionate about helping people. I teach piano, yoga, and guided journaling classes.

I love Russian language, and would like to share my knowledge of that language and culture with my new students. I believe that Russians and Americans have a lot in common; learning each other’s languages helps us understand each other better.
