Nataliya Cowen was born and grew up in Moscow, Russia. She received her Master’s degree in structural and applied linguistics from Moscow State University. After emigrating from the Soviet Union to the United States in 1991, Nataliya taught Russian language and literature at several U.S. universities, including George Washington and Johns Hopkins. In 2002 she received her law degree from the University of Virginia and is working now as an international securities attorney for the U.S. government. Nataliya loves teaching languages and interacting with students and for this reason she has decided to teach a class at GLN.
