Board Communication in Lieu of a Meeting – 2/21/2018
Due to immediate staffing changes (GLN’s Program Coordinator announced she was moving out of DC), the Board of Directors needed to postpone a meeting and instead utilize a Board communication in lieu of a meeting.
GLN President and Chairman Andrew Brown sent a communication to the GLN Board of Directors with an update on recent metrics including:
-The most recent semester (Fall 2017) was our biggest semester in GLN history with 830 students.
-Spring 2018: despite some significant classroom space setbacks, current numbers are 735 students, our second largest semester in GLN history.
President Brown informed the Board that unfortunately GLN’s fantastic Program Coordinator Bailey Wiles will be moving to Seattle on April 1 with her boyfriend.
President Brown mentioned that he posted the Program Coordinator position online, and in less than 48 hours received around 120 applications. Brown mentioned that he will conduct interviews the week of March 5, with the hope of hiring a new person and training them the week of March 12. President Brown invited the Board Directors to participate in any part of the process.
President Brown mentioned the need for classroom space and forwarded the Board a listing found by a real estate agent that Brown had contacted.
