We just had more than 3 inches of snow in the DC metropolitan area. In some areas like West Virginia, it was as tall as 1 foot! When I got snowed in on Tuesday, I pretty much spent the evening watching Chopped on Food Network. In the dessert round, the chefs had to make ice cream from scratch in less than 20 minutes!
One interesting word about a Cantonese (Chinese) dessert item is their ice cream “雪糕” (literally means snow cake)! Would you try some “Snow Cake (雪糕)” in a snowy day?
Chinese (Cantonese): 雪糕, pronounced Shuet go.
Chinese (Mandarin): 冰淇淋, pronounced Bīng qí lín.
